“Warm, open, inviting, welcoming” are just a few of the words being used to describe the new Town Pump Great Falls 2 that reopened on January 23, 2020 after a complete tear down of the previous building and construction of the new store. Featuring 40 cooler doors, expanded deli area, large wine display and increased product offerings the new store is certain to please both returning customers and new customers. With 10,000 square feet of floor space on the main level the new building’s exterior is the prototype construction featuring earth-tone color stone, brick and siding that identifies it as a Town Pump to consumers. The building features LED lighting and sky-lights that allow for daylight harvesting. Demolition of the former building and construction of the new facility took approximately eight months. With eight pump islands (16 stations) Great Falls 2 will continue to sell high quality Exxon fuel and customers can earn redeemable points for fuel and in-store purchases through Exxon/Mobil Rewards+ loyalty program. As part of the construction program, the fuel tanks were replaced with new double-wall tanks. The Great Falls 2 team invites you to stop and see their new store if you are in the area. The store is located at 1400 10th Ave S, Great Falls, MT on the south side of 10th Avenue South between 14th and 15th streets.

Educators refer to the summer months as the “academically vulnerable summer months.” Often times the children experience what is called the summer slide; where the skills they learned during the school year start to diminish. To combat this, schools and public libraries across the state conduct summer reading programs to help the students retain their reading skills. In Billings the program is called Reading Rocks and last year Reading Rocks held 45 sessions in six city parks and distributed 3,417 books. The children also receive a snack or meal. This summer the Bridger Public Library has a 2019 theme of “Space…A Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing.” The program is open to children 3 – 12 and will include the use of space themed books, an inflatable solar system and kits for DIY paper mache telescopes. The Town Pump Charitable Foundation supports these summer reading programs and programs in Dillon, Big Timber, Havre, Kalispell, Colstrip, Columbia Falls and other communities. The grants to these communities and others supports the mission of the foundation by providing financial support to Montana charitable or governmental organizations with a priority of supporting/meeting basic needs and education for Montana citizens.

According to medieval history, King Arthur was a legendary leader, who’s heroics inspired generations of folklore enthusiasts. According to Town Pump history, Michelle Arthur remains a legendary leader, who’s enthusiasm continues to inspire generations of c-store leaders. Michelle started with the company in 1995, as a Cashier in Rocker. She advanced to Assistant Manager, attended MIT (Manager-in-Training), and later became a Manager. Michelle was promoted to District Manager in 2002, overseeing stores and casinos. During her tenure in the field, she was named “DM of the Year” on four occasions. Most recently, Michelle was recognized with the first ever “Legacy Award,” which was presented by Dan Kenneally at the 2018 C-Store DM Leadership Conference. This award recognizes her many contributions to the betterment of Town Pump. In her latest venture (effective March 4th), Michelle will be promoted to “Regional Manager” for the c-store division. In this new role, she is responsible for directing and providing support for District Mentors (formerly known as District Managers), through development and communication of corporate objectives and policies. Michelle will report directly to the Director of C-Store Operations. Congratulations Michelle!

Leadership Montana – exists to develop leaders committed to building a better Montana through knowledge, collaboration, and civility. A collaboration of leaders from business, labor, healthcare, education, nonprofit, and government coming together to form a strong partnership for the betterment of our state, Leadership Montana offers participants a program that strengthens leadership skills while fostering personal growth and reflection. Participants gain a deeper awareness of issues affecting Montana all while building powerful and personal connections with their classmates and network of committed alumni. Joan Kronebusch was invited to be a member of the 2019 class of 44 people from across Montana and said, “I am really excited to be included in this class. There are lots of heavy hitters - I know some, but look forward to connecting with others.” She attended a presentation of Leadership MT in Great Falls earlier this month. One of the presentations was on Change and this slide was included. It really hits the nail on the head with what all divisions within Town Pump are dealing with. If the slide rings true, the we will come around! Submitted by: Joan E. Kronebusch, Director of Sales, Hotel Division
